Trade six goods, ten ports
Opium, Silk, Tea, Arms, Pepper, and Rice — prices swing wildly from port to port. Read the market right and you'll eat well. Read it wrong and you'll eat crow.
Outrun (or outgun) pirates
Li Yuen's fleets want tribute. You can pay, run, or fight — just know that "fight" tends to leave a mark on the hull.
Borrow at your own risk
Elder Brother Yu will lend you a stake when you're desperate. The interest doesn't care about your feelings.

All ten harbor skylines evolve with the in-game calendar — colonial trading posts in 1860, wartime ruins at a handful of ports in the 1940s, and modern skylines by the time you (maybe) retire.
